The three
pictures above are of the same chair. The undercarriage is of mixed
hardwood fastened with deck screws , the arms , seat & back are willow
fastened with ringshank nails . (click on picture for larger view)
These chairs are of a more traditional design , I make
more of these chairs than any other design . The undercarriage is of mixed
hardwood fastened with deck screws , the arms , seat & back are willow
fastened with ringshank nails .The small table ( in the photo on the left ) is
made of twigs split in half and fastened to a piece of 5/8 in.
plywood The center twig in each square is red dogwood.
Above is a picture of a three piece set I made
for a lady who wanted to display it on the covered porch of her old farm
house. The loveseat ( for want of a better name) is large enought to seat
three adults. In the center is a loveseat constructed the same as my chairs ,
that is, a mixed hardwood undercarriage fastened with deck screws ,willow arms
, seat , back fastened with ringshank nails . On the left is a conerstand .
Pictured above is group shot of some of my work . Note
the 3/4 size chair that I made for my daughter . Leaning on the fireplace is a
mosaic table top . The picture in the center shows a closer view .On the right
is a picture of the tools I use to build a chair .
The plant stand on the left is made with an old
traditional design . While living in Seymour IN , my next door neighbor
brought me a stand like this and ask if I could make him a new one . I
still have the old stand ( 60 years old ) that I use as a pattern . Next
to it is a plant stand of my own design . The picture of me on the left was
taken at a campground I stayed in while atending the Rustic Furniture Show at
the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mt.Lake N.Y. ( 1998 ). The other picture
was taken Oct. 1999 at a friends house in Gailsburg Ill.
